The iXL@Performing Arts Academy supports students with a keen interest and aptitude in the performing arts through specialist programs in Dance, Drama and Music.

Each academy provides opportunities for students to develop their technical and performance skills, build personal confidence and collaborate with others. Students may also work with industry professionals and participate in performances, community events and competitions.

Across the program, each year level is underpinned by Courage, Creativity, Teamwork and Leadership.

The Dance Academy is designed for students with a keen interest and aptitude in Dance as a strand of the Performing Arts.

Our vision is to holistically develop each dancer by nurturing personal growth, technical development and a strong team culture.

Students will have opportunities to:

Work with experts in the field.
Develop technical and performance skills.
Collaborate with other performers.
Create performances to an industry standard.
Perform at community events and competitions.

Eligibility criteria

Audition process – I will participate in a physical dance audition.
Rehearsals – I will commit to attending all scheduled rehearsals, including those held outside school hours and during lunch breaks.
Participation in the Dance Academy is subject to payment of the Student Resource Scheme.

The Drama Academy is designed for students with a keen interest and aptitude in theatre and Drama as a strand of the Performing Arts.

The academy develops each performer by nurturing personal confidence, performance skills and a culture of collaboration.

Students will have opportunities to:

Work with theatre and performing arts professionals.
Develop acting and performance techniques.
Create and manage sets, props and costumes.
Use professional sound and lighting technology.
Perform at community events and competitions.

Eligibility criteria

The Music Academy is designed for students with a keen interest and aptitude in instrumental music, vocal repertoire and Music as a strand of the Performing Arts.

Students develop their individual talents, musical expression, technique, confidence and performance skills.

Students will have opportunities to:

Develop instrumental and vocal performance skills.
Improve musical expression and technique.
Collaborate in rehearsals and live performances.
Participate in professional workshops and mentorships.
Develop industry knowledge and professional connections.
